• Denial  - Pretending you could hear what was said, answering inappropriately, and then ignoring the fact that your answer didn't make sense to the other person in your conversation. Claiming a lack of interest or attention when that is not necessarily true. 
• Projection  - Projecting your problem on someone or something else. 
• Anger  - Getting defensive or upset at someone for your hearing loss.
• Depression  - Withdrawing from situations you once enjoyed attending due to not being able to hear. 
• Acceptance  - Understanding you have limitations but wanting to be the best you can. Wanting to improve your quality of life.
